Cobb County schools will make up for lost instructional time due to inclement weather by making two changes to the spring semester calendar. Wednesday February 2, previously an early release day, will now be a full school day for students. Additionally, Friday March 18, previously a teacher workday, will now be a full school day for students.
State law requires districts to make up for any missed instructional time that exceeds four days. So far, Cobb has missed five days. Any additional weather events that result in more missed school days will require the district to consider additional make-up options.
The District calendar has been updated to reflect the February 2 and March 18 changes and is also available on the district web site under "Calendars".
