The faculty, staff, and students of Griffin MS would like to thank Mr. Gaddis, Dr. Constantino, and representatives from the GaDOE for visiting our school this week.  We hope you enjoyed seeing the wonderful learning experiences that occur each and every day.  Come back any time!

Principal's Advisory Council

Griffin's 2008-2009 Principal's Advisory Council was recently selected.  The council, which is made up of students who were nominated by their teachers, will meet with our principal, Mr. York on a monthly basis.  The council has developed two goals for the year: to address the concerns of their fellow students and to make Griffin a better school.

Council members include:

6th Grade - Jaylin Evans - Jamie Sanders - Christina Suggs - Luis Vela

7th Grade - Allen Hawthorne - Monico Hernandez - Emily Timmons - Hanna Watkins

8th Grade - Souleymane Camara - Kanchi Patel - Vanessa Ramirez-Broome - Sae'von Springer

Town Hall Meetings

Join representatives from Griffin's PTSA, Administration, and Faculty for a time of sharing regarding the great things happening at Griffin.

Topics will include:
AYP
Testing
America's Choice
How to be engaged in Griffin
and much more!

The meetings are scheduled to be held at our local elementary school in order to make transportation easier.  This Fall we will be meeting at the following times and locations:

Monday, October 13, 7:00 pm at Fair Oaks Elementary
Tuesday, October 14, 7:00 pm at Norton Park Elementary
Wednesday, October 15, 6:30 pm at LaBelle Elementary

We hope to see you all there.

Diversity Brings Many Successes

The days of rows of desks, reading from page to page to get to the end chapter questions, and worksheets without a purpose many of us grew up with are history here at Griffin. There hands on activities, group work, and technologically enriched lessons that our students are involved in that allow them to be pilots of their own learning.

In order to effectively assist the students in their educational navigation, it is key that Griffin has a staff united.  And, we have accomplished that. As shown here, a diverse group of football fans that can  work together accomplishes great things together!
