Hello to all! I am sorry that the blog ended so abruptly and didn't continue into December, but I had technical difficulties and then the Holidays came! So, it was both technical and operator problems.
Anyway, we are back and ready to go this semester. As we start the new semester, we head into new material. We will be working on the issues of Africa throughout this nine-week period. We have some interesting plans and I believe students will enjoy this nine-week period. The following download includes an introduction to the African material and the standards to be covered throughout the African study. Unit 1: The Geography of Africa is the material we are beginning and it is found under the section titled "Africa: Geographic Understandings".
Also attached to this post is the updated syllabus for this semester and a copy of the return sheet that each student is supposed to have back by Monday, Jan 12 for Blue Days and Tuesday, Jan 13 for Silver Days.Returning the Expectations Form is the first assignment for this nine-weeks.

Tuesday and Wednesday of this week included going over the syllabus, guidelines and grades. We also began the Geography Bee competition in some classes and will finish those on Thursday and Friday. More to come on this later.
Thursday (Blue) and Friday (Silver) lesson includes a video overview of Africa, unpacking SS7G1 standards, and completion of political and physical maps of important locations in Africa.
IMPORTANT: Students must have the notebook or binder being used for this class on Mon, Jan 12 (Blue) and Tue, Jan 13 (Silver).
Since we have been gone a while, there have been a number of Students of the Week that did not receive their proper blog page recognition. Congrats to the following Students of the Week for Blue Days: Guillermo R. (B4), Bri P.(B4), Angelica S. (B3), and Yenab S. (B3) ...and for Silver Days: Ian L. (S4), Marcela C. (S4), Monico H (S2), and Tyrell W. (S3). You all are assets to each of your classes!!!
Also, we need to congratulate Jennifer J. (S4) as the November/December Student of the Month for 7A World Studies. A truly deserving student!
